It can be a tricky thing to find the right one because you don’t want huge glitter squares obviously standing out on your body like you just came out of a rave...or your tween years. They have so many options and varieties out there to help achieve the level of shimmer and shine you want, whether it is in the day at work or for a night out in the city.
I own a bunch of shimmer products, because I feel like it improves the look of my skin and can reflect away any flaws with the light. I have a few powders, pink toned, white toned and I also have a bronze one. These I usually mix into my daily loose face powder to give my face a healthy looking, dewy glow. This trick I tend to only use in the summer and go for a matte look in the winter. I have a shimmer in liquid form, which is an old school Victoria’s Secret product that I have kept for a while. They have since developed new products with shimmer that are amazing and of course who doesn’t love all the sexy scent choices you get?! The one I have is a very thin liquid that is loaded with mini sparkles, so I would just put that all over and have a sparkling look. I feel like I have grown up from that look though and I have been searching for the right body shimmer that will give me that Hollywood red carpet sexiness.

I immediately started day dreaming of standing on the red carpet at the Oscar’s, (Jake Gyllenhaal as my date of course) standing before the paparazzi in my gown, while my skin dazzles the crowd looking luscious and crave worthy...my glamour glow secret weapon! I was sold with their sweet words (and my day dream) and decided to give this product a try. This is how I came to fall head-over-heels in love with LORAC’s TANtalizer Body Bronzing Luminizer.
As soon as I put it on I had instant color and they were actually right…it was without streaking and seriously mistake-proof! Even if I noticed an uneven spot I
had time to fix it and rub it in to blend evenly and naturally. The shimmer effect in this product was amazing and made my skin look gorgeous! I used it before I went out one night to an event and when I looked at the pictures that were taken I couldn’t believe how amazing my skin looked! I felt so confident when I put this on and noticed how beautiful my skin could be instantly; it really amazed and surprised me how accurate all the claims were. As I have always told you, my skin is very white/pasty/transparent (not even a pretty Nicole Kidman or Kate Winslet pale) and I usually only feel right when I have a tan…but that is not always easy being I am in an office all day with no beach time.
One thing to remember though, it says it is a quick-drying body makeup…so make sure it is completely dry before putting on clothes. I made the mistake one day to slap it on before work, (while I was running late!) and during my drive in I noticed I “missed a spot” by my knee. Come to find out, while my leg was resting on my car door the lotion actually came off…oops! So wait until it dries!
Other than that, it looks like I have a permanent go-to shimmer lotion that I cannot live without!
