At times I dreaded cleansing my face it always felt so dry & tight I could not leave the sink area without applying moisturizer. Okay so basically my skin is mature & dry - creamy cleansers did do it - my skin never felt clean & refreshed 
First it will help to determine your skin type. Whether it is oily, dry, normal or combination skin? When choosing a facial cleanser look for one that you can use daily even 2x a day. The goal would be to remove makeup and any residue gentle but effective. The cleanser should not leave your skin feeling overly tight or dry. It should feel clean & refreshed. I prefer more natural cleansers
