Every Artist Needs a Clean Pallet to Start

Hi All and Happy Beautiful Fall Friday to you!

What girl doesn't like to wear a little make up once in a while. Even if you're not the full faced Dallas Diva and you just like a little mascara and lip gloss, at the end of the day you still need to make sure it all comes off, right?

I'm going to show my age right now. A very vivid picture that sticks in my head growing up, was the image of Tammy Faye (bless her sweet heart) balling her eyes out on nation television with her eyeliner, mascara and whatever else she had on running down her face after news came out about her then husband, Jim Bakker was involved in a sex scandal. Don't you just wonder what it took to clean her up?

Having been involved a few stage productions with A LOT of makeup, we always used Vaseline to take off the hard core stage make up; which may I add, is not very teenage- acne prone skin friendly. So fast forward to today... I love going out and laying on the makeup, water proof eye liner and mascara, fake eye lashes with the ever gooey adhesive and a little bit of glitter for accent. At the end of the night, all of that has to come off. So what do I use?

Well hands down, my ABSOLUTE favorite is from Dermalogica. It's their Pre-Cleanse product. It's emulsifying agents attach themselves to all the oil-based contaminates hanging out on your face and gently remove them from your skin. I'm telling you, this product cuts through waterproof eyeliner and mascara leaving my skin soft and not feeling like it was sand blasted or stripped. Pre-Cleanse also breaks through and removes foundation too. Another added benefits of this product too, is that it's delicate enough that you can get it pretty close to your eyes without it burning them. And what's a review without talking about the smell of the product? Let me share, you will love this product not only because it works, but also the smell. In traditional Dermalogica style, the smell is not overpowering, just a delicate blend of olive and kukui oil with a hint of citrus.

I will also say that if you're just looking for an eye make-up remover, Lancome's Double Action Eye Makeup Remover works pretty good too. I would say that it does take a couple extra cotton balls to get all the makeup off, but still does the job. I like to use it when I goof up on my eyeliner or sneeze when putting on mascara and I get the under the eye lash marks. Gotta love that!

So now you no longer have to be afraid of being a Glam Goddess. Lay on the fun glitter eye liners and Glam-on! You can still wake up the next morning clean and clear from the escapades of the night before.

Fun Fact: In the Elizabethean era (1550 AD) , coat tar was used as eye liner, mascara and eyebrow pencil. The downside? It smelled bad, caused blindness and is flammable.

Aren't you glad we've progressed?

Have a great weekend and be good to each other!
