This week’s topic—daily face moisturizers—was a toughie for me, as I can’t easily limit my favorite down to just one…or even two products. Face moisturizers rank high on the scale of ‘things I’ll splurge on’, and I like having a few options on hand to suit my skin’s needs any given day.

So I’ll just jump right in…
For the past couple months, I’ve been using Weleda Almond Face Oil nearly every morning. It’s amazing. It absorbs well, isn’t greasy, and balances my skin. It works when my skin is dry just as well as it does on an oily day. And it works throughout the day as evenly as it absorbs (my skin isn’t dry by afternoon). An awesome daily face oil.

Next up: Mychelle’s Pumpkin Renew Cream—how seasonal! I use this when I need to mix things up, or if I’m about to apply more makeup than usual for a night out. It smells incredible, and the rich texture is almost deceptively lightweight once applied. I can’t get enough of this one, either! It's a great lightweight lotion base for skin on the dry-er side.

Finally (I promise!) for the piece de resistance, there's Dr. Alkaitis Day Crème. The feel, smell, and results make me feel nourished from the outside-in, and make my skin glow! For those of you looking for an effective and nutrient-rich organic face lotion, this is definitely worth a try. I’ve used many organic face creams, and while they’re usually a bit pricier (once off my grad student budget, perhaps Dr. Alkaitis products will move back into my daily routine…) they can also be extremely effective and awesome. Always ask first for a recommendation, though, as some organic (or simply organic-labeled...) products are just not good.
Runners Up:
Mario Badescu Buttermilk Moisturizer
Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer
John Masters Rose & Apricot Antioxidant Day Cream
That's all! Before signing off here, I'd like to remind you that we're always here to answer any questions you might have, make any recommendations you might need, or just to say hi! Enjoy the week!

ReplyDeleteI’ve been focusing more on layering my skincare properly, especially using a 5% Niacinamide Serum to control oil and improve texture. Adding a 10% Vitamin C Face Serum has really boosted my glow and helped with dullness. And of course, a Hyaluronic Acid Serum is a must for keeping my skin hydrated and fresh throughout the day. Loved reading this—thanks for the great tips!
