Soft, Sexy Skin

Happy Friday everyone… it is I, your Master of Disguise Beckie to help transition from “I’ve been covering up” Spring skin to “HELLLOOO” Summer skin.

Yep, it’s that time again!  Time to dust off your strapless dresses and off the shoulder tank tops.  While your poor skin was hiding under wool sweaters and long sleeve T-shirts, it was waiting patiently for the warmth of the sun again.  So last week we talked about what type of sunscreen to use during the day.  But what do you do when you get home to get ready to go out and show off that magnificent tan?  EXFOLIATE!  That’s right boys and girls.  The best thing to do after being in the sun all day is exfoliate and give your skin that warm glow it deserves.
Now I know what you’re going to say.  Beck, all scrubs are created equal, right?  Ney, Ney I say!  They are not created equal.  First and foremost, when I’m looking for a scrub, I always go for a sugar scrub.  The small granules deliciously kiss away the dead skin cells and leave behind a welcoming glow.
One of my favorites is from Archipelago Botanicals (www.archipelago-usa.com) .  Their Grapefruit Body Scrub is the perfect combination of sugar and oil and leaves your skin with a youthful glow not a greasy mess.  I also like that it leaves behind a refreshing scent on my skin.  If you’re not into the citrus smell, their Vanilla is pretty nice too.

I have to admit, I’m kind of addicted to body scrubs.  I just love how my skin feels (and looks) after using them.  I have about 4 different ones in my shower right now.  Some that give a really deep scrub and a couple that are more like a body wash with little scrubbies in them and  don’t forget about your feet!  During the warmer months,  I rarely have shoes on, unless I’m going out, so my feet get pretty trashed.  But I don’t want to be that girl with nasty cracked desert feet, so I use Earth Therapeutics Loofah bar on my feet.  It exfoliates but doesn’t strip away any of the oils leaving only pretty little puppies.
Well raise you’re glass to the 1st week of summer!  I can’t wait to see what fun I can get into this year!
Have a great weekend friends.
Cheers!
beckie
