Bring My Sexy Back!

Hello Beautiful Readers,

It’s Jessica again. As you know by now, this week we are reviewing body firmers and anti-cellulite treatments.

Just so you know, I am a woman in my 20’s…this is where my co-workers would kindly remark “very late 20’s”…but regardless of their friendly reminders of my age, I still feel like I shouldn’t worry too much about cellulite, sagging skin and wrinkles! Ewwww. That is until I tried on my bikini a few weeks ago…besides being so pale white I am see-through (lucky for me we are reviewing self tanners for the rest of the month!) I also noticed my skin is not as…*cough* toned as it used to be. When did this happen? Well, maybe I have been indulging a little too much on the sweets and going to the gym a little less…but I can’t go to the beach like this!

Okay…breathe, calm down…it will be okay. There are treatments and lotions and potions out there to help firm those flaws, or at least make it look that way. I know I am not the only woman wanting a hot body in a bottle, and I know I might be a little dramatic with my expectations but putting on lotion is SO much easier than sweating in the gym.

On to the research! This being my first look into the firming world I started just Google searching and Amazon.com hunting to find out what people are trying. This is how I came across Nivea My Silhouette! Redefining Gel-Cream with Bio-Slim Complex. It claims to redefine the appearance of the body’s contours by using a combination of White tea and Anise extract. The first thing I noticed with this gel-cream is the scent! It’s an amazing perfumed scent that I love! If you are sensitive to scents and perfume bothers you, this probably isn’t the product for you. Another thing I loved about it is the gel-cream consistency that is light and easy to rub in. It dried fast too, so you can put clothes on after a few minutes of application. It is SO moisturizing and it last a long time! I put it on my sunburn that was starting to peel and I had no more peeling or dry skin and I didn’t have to reapply at any point in the day! I used it for two weeks and honestly didn’t see much difference in regards to its firming and redefining of my contour, but it truly is an amazing moisturizer. I bet it would make a great after sun treatment because it seriously took away my peeling, sunburned skin that was driving me crazy!

The office invested in a few skin firming treatments so we had extras on hand and I had noticed one day an Olay Body Quench plus Firming lotion hanging around. Since I had an amazing experience with my Olay face scrub I decided to give this product a try to see if this would help with firming. I have used Olay Body Quench lotion before, it’s my summer lotion because it has shimmer “sparkles” in it that gives a sexy glow and it definitely kills dry skin, so much so that I have even used it on my face. They claim it will plump skin cells with moisture, leaving skin visibly firmer. “Visibly” firmer…achieved I think by the light reflective “sparkles”. That trick is also commonly used in makeup, which I use :) Since I already knew I loved the lotion, I was now just testing out the firming ability. In the end, I do think the Olay Quench plus Firming body lotion was more effective over the Nivea, when it came to firming. I noticed my legs looking better, but not completely flawless.

Long story short, if you want to look truly toned and fit the gym is the best way to go. I have yet to find my miracle "sexy body" in a bottle but I can always fake it ‘til I make it...to the gym. With these helpful lotions I discovered, this year will be a shimmery, shiny summer for me!
