Oompa Loompa is Not My Color...Bronze Me Beautiful!

Hey, it’s Jessica here with my review on sunless body tanners!

I get so excited over the idea that I can use a fake tanner and actually look naturally tan, because as I had mentioned in my blog last week…I am just plain white. The only way I can look tan is the fake way! I love the look of a tan, I just have so much more confidence and I have fun wearing outfits with a little more sassy than usual…but let’s be honest…it is a lot of work and maintenance!

How do I know what product to choose that will make my tan look right on me and be easy enough to use? This is the challenge. I have been using fake tanners since I was a junior in High School, I used it a few days before my Junior Prom. Scary to try something out a few days before a big event, and I would not recommend it…but I was a teenager and when I have my mind set on something I want it done now! I actually did a pretty good job…I just had to hide my bright colored hands all night!

Application is tedious and if you live alone and are single (ME) it is impossible to do a proper full body application! After many failed attempts to train my cat to help me apply the tanner to my back, I did some research on better methods to reach the unreachable areas. The ladies in the office were having a conversation about a new self-tanner product that came in, a self tanning towelette. Like I had said in last week’s blog, I am only use to seeing those after my extra hot plate of Buffalo wings but something worth a try. I tried the towelette three separate times, two different types and the conclusion to that short story is…NOT for me!
What was I doing wrong? I put it on at night and woke up blotchy/streaky…so much for their claim of “streak-free”.

My fast fix to the mistakes I make with self-tanners is Lancome Soleil Flash Bronzer, tinted self-tanning moisturizing mousse with pure vitamin E. This stuff is amazing! The bronzer gives instant color so I can cover up my uneven skin coloring and the self-tanner in it will naturally develop throughout the day. Mousse consistency makes it SUPER easy to work and see where the color goes.Honorable mentions of fake tanners I use when I have time to go through the process is L’Oreal Sublime Bronzed Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion, medium natural tan. Claims to give an instant bronze glow, won’t rub off and is quick dry…all TRUE! Another product from the L’Oreal line that I love and can also use in a hurry is the Sublime Glow moisturizing MicroFine Mist and natural skin tone enhancer, I use the medium skin tones choice even on my light skin and it comes out perfect. It’s so easy to use, it’s just like you’re airbrushing yourself, 360 degree continuous spray too so you can hold the can at any angle…yes this is my type of tanner.

It only took about 12 years to finally find self-tanners I can use (meaning fool proof easy) and be happy about. No more hiding my white, winter legs or my botched up fake tanning flaws…my future is miniskirts, bikini’s and a glow that will have people asking if I just came back from a tropical vacation.
Our secret :)

Until next time Beauties…be good to yourself and enjoy living life!
