Scrub a Dub Dub....

I love body scrubs…. In my research and experience I have found that there are many different types of scrubs that I love. I guess it depends on the time of year, or maybe it is my mood…

There are many types of ingredients you can make scrubs from, salts, sugars, nut shells, sand, pumice, luffa, and poly ethylene (plastic). There are many sizes of granules/ particles so really you can find some with larger to very fine… a lot or a little. There are cream based, gel based, and oil based. Finding your perfect scrub can be overwhelming! There are so many to try and there are so many variables…

I find the scrubs I enjoy most are cream based with walnut shell meal, for my regular scrubs that I keep in the shower all year long. I rotate between 3 scrubs usually. I use emerginC Micro Scrub for both my face and body. It is gentle and easy to use on a regular basis. I also like Yube Foaming Skin Polish and Kiehls Gently Exfoliating Body Scrub “Grapefruit, (those are both body only)… Kiehls is creamy base with luffa granules. Yube is gel based with walnut shell granules. These are all great year round regular use scrubs. After the shower I always need to apply a body moisturizer after.  I think the level of refinement the brand chooses for the granules and the easy to wash off nature of the base are the key elements for a good regular body scrub.

Although when I want to feel luxurious, Origins Incredible Spreadable Ginger body scrub is Answer HANDS DOWN!!! I LOVE this scrub and the way it makes me feel. The second I open this jar I know I am in for a treat. The smell is incredible. You can see the oil on the Top and there is a mix of sugar and salts in this scrub. The sugar buffs your skin and as the sugar melts away, your hand continues to massage in the oil. The oil is very light and hydrating. We are not talking greasy, we are talking luxury.     Okay, so I am Sara's husband John. I get to see all these products first hand in every nook, on every shelf, and on every windowsill in our bathroom. If there were price tags, I would honestly have assumed that when I opened the bathroom door, I was mysteriously transported into a Sephora. While she gets to try out all these amazing products, occasionally a cover may accidentally spin off and the contents leap on to my skin... It is as if some sort of magic were at play. One product that magically landed on me one day was the Origins Incredible Spreadable Ginger Body Scrub that Sara spoke about in this blog post. The smell and feel of this product is phenomenal. The sweet ginger scent that radiates from within is heaven in a jar. It leaves my skin feeling moisturized and smooth. This stuff has magically jumped on my skin like 10 or 20 times. With this sort of luck, I should really invest in Powerball tickets. Now if the makers could make it Incredible, Spreadable, and Edible, I wouldn't have to leave the shower.
