Smell Like Cake and Discover Love

Hi Everyone!  It’s Wednesday so I, Jessica, am back again to give you my two cents on this week’s topic…Body Scrubs!

Usually I don’t bother too much with bath/shower products, unless I have a big event to go to. I actually do not like spending forever in the shower…unless it’s the dead of winter and I NEED to warm up in scalding water…but it is now summer and in Maine we get about three good months of summer so I go all out to look good from head to toe for those three short months.

Honestly, nine months out of the year I usually just grab a *gasp* bar of soap and get in and out. Occasionally I will make the extra effort to grab a shower puff and use liquid body wash. But this is SUMMER and I always glam it up for summer. I have to take that extra time to buff, polish, scrub, moisturize, shimmer, shine, glow and just downright look like I stepped off the set of a Sex and the City movie!

So as we are still in the beginning of our beautifying process to get ready for sand, sun and fun we are still chipping away at the dead skin. Our face is nice and smooth so now we can move on to our body. When it comes to body scrubs I go for all the sugary, sticky, sweet products that promise to have me smelling like a fresh baked cupcake or candy apple. I love the idea of body products and crave worthy treats combined; I guess I am more concerned with scent over anything else in this case.

I stumbled upon this amazing website http://www.cakebeauty.com/ that had me drooling over products with names like, Cake Kiss and Desserted Island Supreme Body Mousse. I decided to try their Sweet Cheeks Sinfully Smoothing Brown Sugar Scrub. My co-worker Becky was the first to see this arrive in our office and she curiously opened it up and RAVED about the scent. I have to agree with her on that because the scent is DELICIOUS! My mouth immediately started to water and I was craving a cinnamon bun! This scrub is trouble…

As I was debating whether I should test this out in my mouth or not, I finally decided to try it out on my body and see how well it’s scrub factor was. The large sugar grains do in fact have strong scrub power…very abrasive (which I like). Just to warn you all, it is a messy product, but I had fun with it and I almost felt like I was having a food fight with myself which was a guilty pleasure...I must admit. After washing it off, my skin was smooth and I smelled sinfully like baked goods, which is what I was after. I would use this product strictly as a fun shower treat…maybe once a month or if I need to uplift my mood only because it is too fun and scent-a-licious to pass up all together.

In the end, as a daily scrub I prefer something that will leave my skin with a nice, healthy sheen. I need to have a moisturized glow on my skin that only my first love can give me…I just can’t quit my Origins Incredible Spreadable Ginger Scrub *sigh*. Before this scrub I didn’t have too much faith in products that were labeled "organic" or "natural" but this product has opened my mind and made me fall in love. When I use this product I look like I have this incredible, shimmery, soft glow. I just can’t deny the confident boost this scrub leaves me with.
