Unmask Your Beautiful Skin…with a Mask

Happy Wednesday Readers,

I’m Jessica and as you already know, this week we are talking about cleansing face masks!

I LOVE face masks. I have used SO many and currently own countless types that I frequently use. I probably apply a face mask about 3-4 times a week and I use different ones each time depending on how I feel my skin is behaving…like I said before bi-polar skin means I have to constantly evaluate what it is like on a daily basis. The majorities of masks I tend to buy are cleansing and detox types and the more interesting the ingredients, the more likely I am to buy it.

The newest mask I tried out to write this week’s blog on was the Pumpkin Glycolic Mask by The Holy Mud Company. Sara kind of stole my thunder on this because I had originally picked this mask to blog about, but when it came into the office Sara excitedly asked me for a sample. I had no idea she would blog about it until I read her blog on Monday! I don’t blame her though because this mask is by far something to repeatedly talk about! First of all, you readers know that my latest obsession is glycolic acid and I have been searching high and low for any of the top glycolic products on the market. Secondly, this mask hit on my Pumpkin obsession which I have always had! With those two loves of mine combined this mask already captured my attention and piqued my interest. The consistency was delightful, the smell was heavenly and the application was a dream. I cannot think of enough descriptive words to express my love for this product. It goes on with a slight tingle, which let me know the glycolic acid was at work. Then I just went about my business in total comfort, no tightening, hardening, drying feeling like a tradition mask…typically clay, would feel like. I didn’t have to rush to go wash it off and it never felt annoying to me. I did what I wanted to and washed it off when I was ready to! Then when I washed it off my skin was brightened and it has been staying very clear, no dry patches in sight! Okay, I love holy mud, you get it.

Other masks worth an honorable mention (and your time to try out) were The Body Shop’s Basil Purifying Mask. Again, this is not drying and improved skin tone, texture and was very hydrating. One we had around the office that I ended up loving, Astara’s Blue Flame Purifying Mask. Then another we had at the office that Sara said was great and I should try, Organic Complexion: Advanced Cleansing Clay. This one is an exceptional clay (hardening) mask! My skin has felt so clear and clean after this mask and it has maintained my skin beautifully. I rarely try and use organic products because I feel like they do nothing, but this one is a mask that I use almost daily. Not always as a full face mask but as a spot treatment for blemishes that pop up or that I see abut to be a major problem.

Lastly, I want to mention a mask that (DISCLAIMER) is instructed to be used on the body. I was at a trade show (Cosmoprof in Las Vegas) last month and an Ahava sample was handed to me and when I got home I wanted to try it on my face (even though it says body mud mask, so don’t do this unless it’s by your own will). I absolutely love this Ahava Dead Sea Body Mud! The whole concept and feel of this mask is amazing. I feel it tingle a bit on my face and you can even warm it up in the microwave! Only needs to be in there for about 5-10 seconds, but then I applied it to my face and it felt SO soothing and relaxing. This one dries and flakes off so it can be messy if you leave it on too long. Maybe if I ever get the patients and time to do a body mud mask at home I will, but for now I will stick to my collection of face masks.

Let me know your favorites!

Until next week, keep on being beautiful you!
