Not So Spooky Color

Hi all. Its Tara here, having a very easy time getting in the fall spirit this year, up here in Boston-everything is so beautiful with the leaves changing, and with the perfect crisp weather. I love the fall!

As you know, this is our Halloween special week. Unfortunately, I’m not a huge costume person (usually I’ll just throw together a makeshift outfit from something in my closet)—so I generally won’t wear face paint or anything like that either. In the spirit of using things I already have at home, I’ll sometimes go heavy on the makeup (like when I was a flapper…or the waitress Flo from the movie Dumb & Dumber) and sometimes I’ll add some cat whiskers or a beauty mark. For these last transformations, I’ll simply use some waterproof eyeliner I have lying around at home. Since we don’t generally review color cosmetics here on Cert Fab, I thought I’d take this opportunity to sing praises for my favorite eyeliner of all time…

Jane Iredale’s eye pencils are my absolute favorite ever. The textures (soft enough not to pull on your eyelid, but strong enough to stay put for hours) and colors (blue/black is my favorite) are the absolute best and I know they won’t do any harm around my eye area as they’re based in minerals and oils and like jojoba, macadamia, etc. I highly suggest you check out their eye pencil page on their website, as they have a great eye/skin color matching system there.

Many apologies if this wasn’t what you were expecting from my Halloween post, but if you’re like me, and Halloweeen is just a time to wear more makeup than usual, hopefully this post was helpful!

Hope you’re enjoying a beautiful fall, and that you have a very spooky Halloween celebration this weekend!
