Beauty Sleep

Hi everyone. It’s Tara here, writing about my favorite overnight fixes. For me, nighttime is the absolute best time to repair anything that needs it. During the day, you’re running around, and your body can’t really focus on repairing any damage. So whether you have a pimple that needs drying, eyes that need de-puffing, dry hands that need moisturizing, or even just an hour more sleep—for an all around rosier outlook and glow tomorrow—take your remedies to bed with you and make it a true beauty sleep! Here are some of my favorite overnight remedies:

Mario Badescu drying lotion. It always works on the fussiest of pimples. You literally can’t leave your house with this drying treatment on your face, so I like to dab it on my blemish with a cotton swab before hitting the hay.

J.R. Watkins cuticle balm. I try to apply this every night before bed, as it really makes a difference the next morning. Sometimes I’ll even throw on some socks after applying to toes, and—ta da!—wake up with the softest feet ever.

Egyptian Magic. I apply this to dry skin patches anywhere (including dry lips) before flipping the switch. The basic ingredients—beeswax, olive oil, and only a couple others—really repair the patches by morning.

Jojoba oil (Hobe Naturals is a favorite brand). Sometimes I’ll apply this to the ends of my hair before going to bed in the winter—when I begin to blow dry my hair more and can see more damage. Just a little dab’ll do ‘ya, though, as too much of this stuff can get sticky on your pillow.

Finally, for a great night's sleep (which provides the absolute best all-around beauty repair!) I can always count on a little dab of lavender oil on my temples and wrists. It helps me fall asleep relaxed--which is particularly important for me, as my mind will sometimes race with to-do lists before heading to bed. The smell of lavender is just so relaxing-I'd love to take a nap in a lavender field right now!

Well, it's been tough writing this nice beauty sleep post first thing in the morning! I hope it can be helpful to you, and that you have many restful nights ahead!
