Beauty Comes From Inside

Hola Fellow Fabbers!  Here it is Friday again and what a better to topic to talk about than beauty from inside out.

Ok... we've all done this.  It's January and what's almost every one's New Year's resolution?  To eat better and exercise, right?  Well that usually lasts about 2 weeks... 3 at the most.  We can't help it... the smell of grilled onions on a juicy cheeseburger with fries of course and then what goes best with a cheeseburger?  A cold frosty beer!  There goes your "diet," because once you start, you can't stop.  It's a vicious cycle.  Then you wonder, why don't I have any energy?  Why is my skin so nasty?  Why do I feel like slime?  Well friends, because of  the junk you're putting in your body.

So... what do you do? Never eat meat again?  Deny yourself cheeseburgers and french fries?  Nah.. like the French say, "All in moderation."  Maybe treat yourself once a month to a delicious plate of Irish Nachos (fries with melted cheese, bacon and chives dipped in ranch dressing- YUM!!!)

There is a book that was written almost 13 years ago called Maximum Energy written by Ted Broer.  I first heard about the book when the author was being interviewed on a local radio station.  Everything that he was talking about made sense.  Like, when you devour a medium Godfather fully loaded pizza, how do you feel?  Like crap!  Well... Ted Broer believes it's because of all the processed ingredients. Our body thinks it needs to break all of that down and it take tons of energy to do so.  In turn, taking it away from you and your daily activities.  So he suggests a diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables and light meats, like fish or pork, but not processed like bacon.  Doesn't this sound familiar?

Sometimes though it's hard to get all your nutrients from eating, so supplements are needed.  One of my favorites but slightly on the pricey side is from Phyto.  Their Phytophanere Dietary supplement is awesome and can totally tell a difference when I don't take them.  But if you're looking for a supplement that may be a little less expensive, Spring Valley (you can find it at Walmart) makes a supplement for Hair, Skin and Nails that is practically identical to Phyto's.  I have had similar results with both.  I am a terrible pill taker, so I put them on my desk at work and take them immediately when I get in.  Easy, Breezy, beautiful skin.
Of course drinking your daily dose of water helps your body and keeps your skin clear of toxins, but after a while water gets boring.
 So here's some other ideas...

Other fluids beneficial for your skin health:
  • Unsweetened fluids: include fresh fruit juices (in moderation). A great choice would be low fat or skimmed milk, which will not only provide you with fluids, but also with essential nutrients for your bones and your overall body.
  • Herbal infusions: 1 cup of anise or chamomile in the evening gives you fluids and soothes your stomach.
  • Green tea and coffee: In moderate amounts, these are full of healthy antioxidants that help protect your body and skin cells from damage.
Here's a case in point about hugs....
My brother was in a really bad mood, we're talking "F" bomb city, and I just walked up and gave him a hug.  Changed his mood right away.  So the next time you're getting yelled at by your boss, just walk up and give them a hug and see what happens.

Spread the love beautiful people!
Until next week.
