Bring the Spa Home!

Hi there.  It’s Tara here, hoping you’re having a good start to your week and new year!  As we’ve already mentioned, this first month of the year we are discussing our favorite treatments and products used for taking time for ourselves and relaxing.  In this category my favorite treatment—far and away—is a deep tissue massage.  I rarely get the opportunity to get a massage these days, but when I do, I believe that a good massage oil makes all the difference.

There are more than a few massage /body oil hybrids on the market, and I actually like to use these products for daily body moisturizing, as well.  A favorite brand is Aura Cacia.  The oil isn’t too thick, sticky or fragrant for regular use, and I’m a fan of their lavender-based products.  On a side note—pure lavender oil has many other helpful, medicinal effects besides calming the mind.  I always have a small roll-on stick of pure lavender oil from Lavande de Lherm (the lavender farm where I briefly worked, in Southern France)—to apply to bug bites, burns, scars, you name it!  It is truly magical.  But I digress…

The final body oil I’d like to mention is by Kai.  It definitely falls into the aromatherapy category, as its decadent gardenia scent is what sets it apart from all the other scented body products I’ve used.  I had to take the opportunity to share this tried and true favorite dry body oil spray with you, as its scent is fresh, spirit lifting and not over powering.

So, for those of you who are like me, and can’t make it to receive body treatments all that often, I hope these products can provide some helpful home remedy.  I look forward to continuing this conversation next week, but until then, enjoy your day!
