I just love mascara

I just love mascara and know it can be very challenging finding the best one for your own lashes, there are so many different types, waterproof, no smear, lengthens & defines, curls & separates.

What makes a mascara one of the best, is simply if it works for you. This also depends on your eyes & lashes and is typically done by trial & error. A recommendation usually helps narrow your search. We all have several favorites some of mine are Maybelline, Dior, Givenchy, Chanel or L’Oreal. 

Being a baby boomer!! I used the cake mascara for years also had gone thru the tedious process of painting 

Twiggy eyes, just loved that look at the time. but we have come a long way.

Mascara is a cosmetic used to enhance the eyes it may darken, thicken, lengthen and/ or define the eyelashes. Normally in one of three forms – liquid cake, or cream – the modern mascara product has various formulas; however, most contain the same basic components of pigments, oils, waxes or preservatives.

Did you know that the Bat guano controversy an urban legend mentions the use of bat guano as one of the ingredient of mascara???? It is actually guanine not guano that is authorized as a color additive for cosmetics by the FDA and Europe regulations, and it must be extracted from fish scales, not bat guano.

In 1933, a woman known on court records as Mrs. Brown consented to have her eyelashes permanently dyed. Unfortunately, the product used contained paraphenylendediamine, a chemical extremely toxic to the body as a dyeing agent. At the time cosmetics were unregulated by the Federal Drug Administration, and the dangers of specific ingredients were unknown. Unfortunately this resulted in causing blindness and other problems.

In 1938 our congress granted the FDA the right to regulate cosmetics, similar regulations are in place today by the European Union & Japan as well as many other countries banning many substances for use in cosmetics.

In 1913 a gentleman named T.L. Williams created a substance similar for his sister Mabel and in 1917 started a mail-order business that grew to become the company Maybelline.

In your quest for the perfect mascara that looks Fabulous should lengthen, define, thicken, curls & separates. Has a wand that works for your lashes and does not flake, smudge or clump.

One of my current finds is by Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Flared.  Right after I started using this mascara I noticed my lashes were fuller & longer, even my doctor commented and wanted to know if I had been using a lash enhancer.

Their claims were on target false lash glam with a flare fabulous!!! It builds volume with out clumping. The wand has a spoon curler brush that fans out your lashes, the wand lifts and separates your lashes they will look over 100% fuller.
