As much as
I would like to think you lovely beauties only read my blog, I know that is not
true, so I always feel like I can’t surprise you, LOL! So as you know, we’ve been all discussing our
lovely lashes and what to do to improve them.
Mad Men fan
or not, I’m sure you’ve seen the Zou Bisou Bisou dance routine that Jessica
Par`e (Megan Draper) did last Sunday night.
The 60’s are back baby and so are the lashes! Big thick eye liner and beautiful lush
lashes; I love it.
So unless
you were blessed with beautiful thick lashes, you have to fake it like the rest
of us. Like Jessica mentioned, I’m not
one to wear the falsies as an everyday routine either, but I do like them. There are so many fun designs out there now;
from feathers to glitter and all different colors. One of my dearest friends is a makeup artist
and I asked her, what’s the trick to applying these things? If you’re anything like me, I tend to have
more glue on my eye than lash. Her
suggestion was to apply in sections. Cut
the lash in 3 different sections and apply from the outer portion of your eye
inward. That way you don’t have to worry
about trying to apply all at one time.
Her other tip was to curl your real lashes 1st. This will allow your falsies and real lashes to
mesh together.
As for
everyday lashes, I have a secret to share, so lean in….closer… little closer… I
use 2 different types of mascara everyday to give me a full lash look. I usually start with a full brush. One I really like is from Cover Girl, LashBlast Fusion. It applies really nicely
and gives my lashes nice coverage. I
then apply another coating from a different mascara with a thinner brush, like
Stiletto from Maybelline. With the
thinner brush it helps to individualize each lash without losing coverage. Viola! Instant beautiful eyes! And that my
friends is my little beauty secret…it’s not much but it works.
I was
reading an article about stress this week.
It mentioned that women that hugged another person when they were
stressed out, were able to lower their own stress. What an amazing concept! Helping someone else, can also help yourself.
Hugs… they
do a body good!
Cheers,
Beckie b
