Healthy Skin Advice from a Doctor

Happy Monday! Since we had such great response on Dr. Susan Baskin's Botox blog on Saturday we wanted to share another blog she wrote for us :)
This week we get into the eyes month of March and first up this week we talk about the best eye concealers and primers. Before we conceal and prime though Dr. Baskin shares her thoughts on taking care of your skin before you have to conceal. Especially as we get closer to Spring and travel season picks up (at least for us in the office)!
If you missed Saturday's blog post here is a little about the doctor...

Thank you Grayce and Jessica for having me as a guest blogger at this fantastic site.
I've been to three out of the four corners  of the United Sates over the last ten days and it has gotten me thinking about my skin and the affects of traveling. We've all done it- made do with this and that for our skin while on the road. The result? Looking more tired and sallow than we already are from all the miles logged. Taking a moment and making sure your skin is well taken care of can make all the difference.
The must have, non-negotiable products for healthy skin are first, collagen stimulant for anti-aging such as TNS Essential serumby Skin Medica. It contains tissue growth factors and peptides to stimulate the skin's production of collagen as well as Vitamin C for anti-oxidant protection.
Second you should moisturize and protect. Your moisturizer may vary depending on your skin type and the area of the country you live in. Dryer climates need more hydration and a barrier component to protect against evaporation such as Cera Ve moisturizing cream. More humid climates or oilier skin may require less hydration.
Revale skinmoisturizer may be a good choice as it is a bit lighter and has the natural anti-oxidant coffee berry.
Finally, don't forget your sun block. I prefer a physical sun block with an SPF of 30, like Elta MD. Apply every two hours when outside.  Go forth and travel!
