A Little Dusting Goes A Long Way

Hi all, and Happy Tuesday!  I’m here to talk hair powders today.  This is an interesting topic for me because I’ve always had a weird relationship with these products.  Why, you ask?  Well it's because hair powders were introduced (or at least introduced to me) when I was in college…and almost all of my friends were blonde!  It felt as if everyone around me was dusting on some baby powder or hair powder to add some extra oomph to their limp or unwashed hair, and I was so jealous of them for it!  As a brunette, I wasn’t able to be use baby powder or the early stage hair powders (which may as well have been baby powder, they were so white and flaky…) and really felt jipped during those multiple nights of partying in college!

Of course, this all changed when the brunette and invisible hair powders were released.  Some examples of these are Bumble & Bumble’s brown hair powder, the All-Nighter styling powder for Brunettes, or natural versions like this Vegan and Organic Brunette hair powder.

For my fine brunette hair, the invisible powders work best.  Since being recommended to it by Bradley & Diegel salon in Boston, I’ve become completely addicted to Kevin Murphy’s Powder Puff—an invisible powder that provides tons of volume...even if I haven’t washed my hair recently.  I highly recommend this stuff.  In fact, I can’t even think of the last time I went out without using it!

Do you use hair powder or make your own?  Please let us know!!

Until next week, this is Tara signing off and wishing you the best!
