One Time and I’m a Happy Camper!

Hi Fabulous Ones!  Welcome to the end of week of Love!

It’s confession time.  I’ll start.  I really don’t know where the blood goes in my head, but it’s definitely not to my lips.  When I wake up in the morning or even throughout the day, if I don’t have color on my lips, I look like a walking corpse.  And I’m not one that is constantly applying lip stick or gloss for that matter.  When I first heard of lip stains, I praised the beauty gods for their gift of eternal lip color.  But then, I cursed them!  Back then, they didn’t stay and you had to apply them with a nail polish brush.  WHAT!?!?  Lip color has come a long way; from the long lasting lipsticks to stain lip glosses.  AWEsome!

Which is my favorite you ask?  Well, one is, from Tarte.  Their LipSurgence™ lip luster is perfect.  It comes in several shades that work well with all types of skin types.  What I like is it works as a lip gloss too and doesn’t dry out your lips.  An added benefit is, towards the end of the day, if you’ve been applying a couple times throughout, you can simply just apply a clear or sheer light gloss and you have perfectly pink, luscious, kissable lips.

My newest love though, is Smashbox’s O-Gloss.  This stuff is fantastic.  I like to vary my makeup colors.  Some days I’ll go super dark on the eyes, so then I don’t want bright “how you doin’ lips,” I just want glossy soft pink lips and that’s what O-Gloss gives me.  The Smashbox team has waved their magic wands and created the perfect lip gloss that adjusts to your skin color and gives you the perfect amount of color.  Love it!

Did you know…

·         Minnesota man Alfred Wolfman holds the record for kissing the most people. In 1990 he smooched 8,001 people in eight hours. Holy Chapstick!

·         The average person spends about 15 days kissing throughout the course of a lifetime. That’s like a full vacation

Just because the week of Love is over, don’t stop lovin’ each other!

Muah!

All about lip stains

Greetings Grayce here!

All about lip stains

Like shoes I really do know how lip glosses, lip sticks or lip balms I have!! you can find them in my collection in pots, tubes, sticks.etc. I am a lip junkie and love to try new lip products that being said some of my favorites are lip stains. They last for hours & hours. I have a pretty hectic life style & don't always have time to reapply my lips.

I recently purchased Jane Iredale Lip Fixation and let me tell you its fabulous it stays on!!
Lip Fixation™ boasts a lip stain and lip gloss in complementary colors.
Packed with botanicals, the stain actually soothes and pampers lips for comfortable, buildable coverage without feathering or drying.
It is a Two Step process 1st apply the stain then the gloss over it – beautiful the colors are great and my favorite is Fascination it has a pinkish mauve cast looks fabulous on most skin colors.

 I do recommend this product

MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour color Lasting Lust

another favorite of mine has always been Mac Cosmetics this also is a long wearing lip color that applies in two quick steps.

Stroke on the special formulated color base. Flip the stick, and apply the clear gloss. Soft and comfortable on.

Kiss, drink, eat. Smudge, run, transfer and feather-proof. Peach is a wonderful color
Almost no need to re apply they both last for hours.

Macs Viva Glam is a fabulous lip stick

In 1994, MAC introduced VIVA GLAM, an outspoken deep red that was universal in its appeal and its glamour. In 1997, a second lipstick was created VIVA GLAM II, a lightly pinked mauve.
VIVA GLAM III, a foxy brown plum lipstick was launched in 2000. VIVA GLAM IV, a heartful rose charged with gold, was introduced in March 2002. In March 2004, Viva Glam V makes its debut, a clear, smooth, pure neutral pink with a delicious Lustre finish!
VIVA GLAM VI, the newest member of the VIVA GLAM family, is a warm terracotta-plum with pearl finish. Wear it alone or finish it off with a coordinating coat of VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass.
In the spirit of all Viva Glam, every cent raised goes to the MAC AIDS Fund to support the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Please support Mac in their fight against AIDS

enjoy the journey!

The Secret is Out...Get Flawless, Kissable Lips NOW

Happy Wednesday Fabulous Readers!

I'm your Wednesday girl, Jessica, and I am back this week to tell you my picks and tips for Lipsticks, stains and tints.

I love the look of lips with a little bit of color in the day and then very dramatic colors at night, but I HATE lipstick! Lipstick is heavy and yucky feeling...not to mention it is messy! Even when I choose one that claims to not wear off it dries my lips so much they look shriveled and I feel SO un-sexy and un-confident. UGH. I have experienced many, many, many trial and error situation with lipstick and I have never had a good feeling about it. Not to mention how hard it is to find the right color!

That is why I am so very happy I have discovered the most amazing way to color your lips and not have the mess...lip stain, tint, gel. They have many names for the same type of product, which is basically a liquid that colors the lips and stays there without a doubt! No reapplying, unless you want it darker, so it leaves you to worry about more important things than the status of your lip color. No more wondering if you have lipstick on your teeth or smudged on your face, or if you look like the Joker from Dark Knight! Lip stain will not move from your lips once applied and you don't even know it is there...sounds too good to be true I know.

There are a few of my favorites for different times of the day that I use. For instance when I am doing my day makeup and need a splash of color to accentuate my lips, nothing crazy I just don't like my lips to blend with my face, hah. On that note I HIGHLY recommend the "marker" style lip stain. A few of my besties: Pixi Lip Blush, I have Youth #1 and it is a light pink color that just looks sweet and innocent. They have a few other colors and they can be as dramatic as you want if you just keep applying it / layer it. If you decide to have heavy, bold makeup on the eyes you might want to use this to just splash the lips with a bit of color.

Another awesome and very manageable lip stain I use is CoverGirl Outlast Lip Stain, I own most of that collection. Trust me, I have tried...I think quite possibly all of the "marker" type lip stains and nothing has come close (besides Pixi) to being perfect and flawless in the use and look of the product on me, than the CoverGirl collection. Sometimes the "marker" types will have just look terrible and be too drying looking...yes you can put a lip gloss over it (which I do usually for my night look) but I seriously just blindly throw it on after my day makeup is done...no need for mirrors to wondering if you "did it right". That is why this lip stain type in my go-to day choice. I like how it gives your lips the look of just having eaten a Popsicle or lollipop, very natural.

Now on to the night look! I have to mention, especially before I get into liquid tints, how important it is to make sure your lips start out flawless. When I say flawless I mean  no cuts, gouges, rough or dry patches. Like in last week's blog, I suggest you exfoliate your lips with a scrub and then treat them at night so they can repair and take on the lip tint and stains of your choice. Having said that I want to tell you what my fave lip gel stain is and that is Vincent Longo's Lip / Cheek Gel Stain. The one I use is called Liquid Kiss and it is a darker purple/red color, like a wine. I love to wear this color because I think it looks good on brunettes and it makes blue eyes stand out more. I can wear it in the day if I tone down my eye makeup, but I mostly love to wear it at night with a clear lip gloss.

The trick to pure liquid lip stains is that you have to watch that it doesn't get on your teeth during application. It is very thin liquid and can be runny while first putting it on. I usually put a little on in the major areas and let it dry for a few seconds before I rub my lips together or use my finger to direct the color in areas. Then if you want it darker you simply just add more layers! Super easy and once it is dry (not long) it last all night and never moves! PERFECT lip color without the mess and hassle.  Even when you put a gloss over it the only thing that will wear off is the gloss, the color remains the same throughout the night. I will never wear lipstick again :)

I know I said a lot in this blog, I just love talking about makeup! We will be posting a YouTube episode soon talking about these lip products and even showing you what it looks like and how to apply it! So check out our channel: http://www.youtube.com/certifiedFABULOUS

XOXO!

What a better day to review lipsticks than this?!? Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

Whether you’re having a romantic night in, hitting the town with a date, hanging with friends, watching the inevitable lineup of rom coms, or simply boycotting this “Hallmark holiday” altogether, chances are you’d like to look a little more luscious than usual today. Any day with an unofficial uniform of red means you’re gonna get noticed more than usual...so why not take this opportunity to draw attention to those lovely lips of yours?!?

I don’t know about you, but I rarely wear lipstick during the day (I’ve always coveted those glamorous women who do!); come nighttime though I like to experiment with all sorts of fun shades. And on special occasions like tonight you can BET I’ll wear something good. As mentioned last week, you want to create a clean surface for lipstick by exfoliating regularly with a product like Sara Happ’s lip scrub.

Flaky lips aren’t good for lipstick application, kissing, or anything really, so this is a must! Once lips are prepped, color choice depends on mood, outfit, and in my case, eye makeup (I never wear a lot of eye makeup with a bold lip; its one or the other for this girl!).

In addition to color, I’m a real stickler for lipstick texture and staying power. As usual, I’d rather buy one quality product that lasts into the night, but doesn’t dry out my lips. All three products below fit this bill.

While I’m certainly not a color expert (that’s left to Grayce!), I’ve found a few shades that fit well with my tone—dark brown hair and eyes, with warmer skin.

Without further ado, my three favorite lipsticks right now (pictured top to bottom, and left to right, in the order listed) are: Bare Minerals’ Rose Crepe (for pretty much any occasion); By Terry’s Plumping Nude (with more eye makeup); and Laura Mercier’s Sheer Sexy Lips (a bold, not too overpowering red)...I’ll leave it to YOU to decide which one I’ll be wearing tonight!

Hopefully this has left you excited for more, as we continue lip month for the rest of February! Until next week, this is Tara wishing you a warm, loving, and F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. Valentines Day, no matter how, where, and with whom you’re spending it!
