I am a Golden Goddess!

One of my favorite Beatles songs is "Here Comes the Sun." The lyrics seem to radiate (no pun intended), especially this time of the year. "It's been a long, cold lonely winter...." Yes, ma'am it has been a long, cold winter and now here comes the sun. We all know that a pasty white look can only go so far when you're sporting a strapless sundress and sometimes you just don't have the time to lay out in the sun... so what's a girl to do?

Welcome the sunless tanners! I know what you're thinking... I don't want to look like an orange or like I've been spray painted. Nae, nae I say! When applied properly, many of the "at home" sunless tanners really work and don't give you the tiger stripe look that is so not inviting. I've actually been trying a few different ones.

So far my favorite has to be from Dr. Dennis Gross. His Alpha Beta(R) Glow Pads are fantastic. These little towelettes of golden happiness, exfoliate while applying a self tanner to your skin and gives it this beautiful, healthy glow. The first time I used this product, I was going out to dinner and needed a quick fix to my dull skin. I was so impressed at how even my skin looked throughout the evening. My shoulders had a "I just got back from a relaxing, tropical vacation" look and didn't have the smell that some of the other self tanning products do. The only thing that was a little difficult was the towelette themselves. I was thinking they needed to be bigger for a body product.

As I mentioned, I have been trying a few different tanners to figure out which one works the best for my skin tone. So I thought, I'll try something that isn't so main stream, that isn't put out by the big boys and I found, Arcona Skin Care. Their bronze tinted self tanner does truly give you a bronzed look but I don't think it works for my skin tone. When I applied the lotion I could see where I had missed. This would be a great product for me in a few months, when I had a dark tan and just needed a little fill in. But for now, I'm going to stick with Dr. Gross and his exfoliating self tanning towelettes.

Sweet spirits remember this, a simple smile can brighten your day and someone else's, so SMILE!

Cheers!
Mama B
