It’s Jessica again, hoping you all are having a good week…so far. As you can probably tell from our sporadic blogging this week, we are super busy at the office. Sara and Tara are away at a lab and the office gets a little crazy without our full team in place!
This week we are reviewing face SPF / tinted face SPF. Since I am a makeup girl, I explored tinted face SPF options. Normally my favorite tinted SPF face coverage is CoverGirl Aqua Smoothers Tinted Moisture SPF 15, and it is still my love because CoverGirl is just an amazing company that has products that ALWAYS match my skin tone. Believe me I have tried EVERYTHING out there when it comes to makeup and nothing has matched my skin NATURALLY as well as CoverGirl.
After this week though, I must make one exception to that statement and s
ay that my product this week, Almay Smart Shade Makeup SPF 15, also is amazing with its color match to my skin tone! The secret, they claim, is a “breakthrough shade-sensing technology that instantly adjusts to the color of your skin.” Interestingly enough, it starts out white and with the heat of your face changes color to your true shade, hiding any flaws you want to cover with great hydration. It contains grape seed, ginseng, and Ginkgo biloba and left my skin looking natural and feeling fresh and light. No heavy, caked on makeup feel with this product! This is my favorite summer makeup and I use this when I need a quick makeup job or if I am going to be outside for most of the day.
After I purchased the Almay Smart Shade makeup I did some research on their website to write this blog and discovered they have a Smart Shade Smart Balance Skin Balancing makeup that would have actually been more perfect for me. It not only has “the shade sensing microbeads that start out white and instantly adjust to match your natural skin tone” (OMG how the heck does that work…I will have to ask Sara) but it has “skin balancing microspheres that keep your oily areas shine-free and dry skin softly hydrated.” WHAAAAT?! For someone with combination skin (ME)…or well any skin type this is perfect! I know what my next makeup purchase is going to be.

With tinted moisturizer makeup you can wear light makeup, be sun protected, moisturized and still have coverage! Its looks natural and blends easily…win/win! Of course just keep in mind if you happen to have a major blemish crisis to cover, you will probably need to grab a concealer for extra help.

I find the information in your blog to be very informative. You have so much knowledge when it comes to make-up! I trust your opinion on the SPF . Such an important topic for women with all the damage the sun can do to a beautiful face:) thanks for all your help..
