Add a Little Color to your Hair (Tie)

Happy Tuesday, everyone. It’s Tara here, talking hair “accouterments and additions”.

As I mentioned last week, I’m a huge styling product fan—but that’s actually where I draw the line. I’ve never colored my hair, and it’s pretty much always been the same length, but I love…love…LOVE to style it in new ways. Last year I was in a big up-do phase and wore a new bun, braid, or pony style every day. At school this year, I'm much more casual, and whatever’s fastest and easiest, goes. No matter what kind of phase I’m in, though, I have enough length to always need a hair elastic on hand—for work outs or the impromptu ponytail. Don't you hate the feeling of not having one when you really need it??

After staring at the same brown hair elastic on my arm, day in and day out (and having it make appearances into party photos—even in my fanciest attire!), I decided that I needed a more attractive option…

Luckily there's one out there! A little research led me to the amazing Emi-Jay hair ties!
These things look so cool on your wrist (much more like an actual accessory than the not-so-good-'ole plain hair band); they look good in your hair; and they even help the "dent" often caused by ponytails. The Emi-Jay ties come in very cool color combos and patterns, too—even some sparkly ones for those parties I was so concerned with before. I’m actually quite surprised I haven’t seen them around more (maybe I’m not looking in the right places), especially given how many celebs have been spotted wearing them!

Perhaps the best part of these life-saving hair ties--they literally help save lives! Emi-Jay's founders (two savvy 15 year old entrepreneurs) donate proceeds from the ties to great charities like Locks for Love, Operation Smile, Susan G. Komen...the list goes on. And so do the reasons to like these hair ties! So next time you look down at the old, worn out hair tie on your wrist, and want to add a little something new in its place, I definitely recommend the awesome options by Emi-Jay!
