Food for Thought

Hi there, Beauties. It’s Tara here, and for Wild Card Week I’d like to discuss the economics of beauty, and explore ways to stay beautiful—outside of those that can be purchased off the beauty aisle shelf. Stick with me here… I think it might be worth your while!

As Sara mentioned yesterday, the beauty industry is a force to be reckoned with—it’s extremely large, powerful, and profitable….and it owes every bit of it’s success to US! We’ll pay a pretty penny for products. And we might have the tendency to do so for a better reason than we previously thought!

As reported by The Economist (The Line of Beauty), Survival of the Beautiful, Beauty Pays, and many other recent studies—attractive women are literally more successful. So perhaps the price of beauty is actually worth a little more than we realized!

While there are many effective, true beauty-enhancing products on the market (as evidenced here on Cert Fab!), there are also many enhancers that you won’t find in the beauty aisle—but in the produce aisle instead!

In all seriousness—I believe in beauty from fruits and veggies...and raw ones, when possible. During the spans when I’m eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies, my skin looks and feels its best. The days when I cleanse (I’m a particular fan of Blue Print Cleanse) I look even better—my skin actually glows! Add exercise and sleep to the equation, and voila—a much more attractive me!

So, to maintain our best and most attractive image possible, we can’t rely solely on the tubes, bottles, and jars of wonderful products out there to fix everything—it’s our responsibility to enhance our diet and lifestyle, and then let the products give us that extra oomph to help maximize our beauty and aid our success!
