Well Friends, we are 2 days away… are you ready for the big event? Hi All, its Beckie here and personally I’m still wrapping and have one more gift to buy. Yes, I am the Procrastination Queen, but I love it… in fact I thrive on it! Some of my best ideas have come at the eleventh hour, of course when I wake up the next morning, they don’t always seem that great.

24 Things You Didn’t Know About Cosmetics
For hundreds of years, European women used ceruse to lighten their complexions. Unfortunately, the vinegar and lead that made up the paste was known to cause hair loss and potentially lethal lead poisoning.
Acne and burn patients in the U.K. may be treated with vavelta, a clear liquid that contains skin cells that rejuvenate and revitalize damaged skin from the inside out. These skin cells, called fibroblasts, are isolated from foreskins donated by mothers of circumcised baby boys.

Holiday Hair Has Volume!
As I’ve mentioned in the past, my hair is pretty fine (but I have a lot of it), its mid-length, and I love styling it—especially for special events! I’ve pretty much gotten my styling down to a science at this point.
Every time I blow dry (which means, in my case, that it’s a special occasion of some sort...) I use two products. Pre blow-drying I spritz on some John Masters’ Deep Scalp Follicle Treatment, which is for thinning hair—not a problem I have, but it really works like a charm! And once my hair is dry, I sprinkle some Kevin Murphy Powder Puff on my scalp—and voila! The combination of these two create a light volume that lasts all night!
In my seemingly endless search to find the perfect products, I tried many a volumizer that weighed my hair down after a few hours, or that made my hair sticky. The Deep Scalp Spray and Powder Puff products—when used together—leave my hair looking and feeling light as air but with tons of oomph.
I’m an especially big fan of the Powder Puff, as just a little sprinkle of it is guaranteed to completely change my look for the better! Just a couple nights ago I sprinkled some on during a holiday party, rubbed it in, stepped out of the bathroom, and a friend asked if I had just redone my makeup...it’s that good. And how could that smiley face bottle not make you happy?!?
Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful holiday season with family and friends!

Spray your hair with a little or a lot...
Sara |
Today is an almost ironic topic for me. Hair Volume! How to achieve it... Well I have not really been ever able to achieve hair volume.
I try... oh believe me, I try.... I have tried Perms, I have tried gels, Sprays, Shampoos, conditioners, rollers, curling iron, some of those "as seen on TV" hair systems... and I am sorry to say my hair is as flat today as it is most days...
In all my efforts though I have found a tricks from hair dressers that will give a little oomph to my hair. I really only go this when I have to go out, or for photos...
So take your favorite Hair Spray, I use Finesse extra hold hairspray. I only buy maxi um hold, or extra hold because my hair is so fine. I have had a few hair dressers tease my hair (which is the worst, because I knot up so easily, it will take double dose of conditioner to untangle that situation)...
- Wash Hair with volumizing shampoo and conditioner, like John Freida
- Apply Rusk Wired Styling Cream , or living proof full thickening cream
- - small dab on wet hair and then brush through
- Blow out your hair
- - Now if you can do this the day before and then try the curling bit the next day... i have found that it does stay just a tad longer...
- Now try to curl:
- divide into sections ( I use a hair clip to help it stay segmented)
- Heat up curling iron
- take segment and hold hairspray about 6 to 8 inches away and spray up and down,
- Now curl that segment with curling iron
- Repeat until all segments all over your head are curled
- Brush out gently
- Flip your hair upside down and scrunch a few times
- You are ready to go....
Happy Monday
