Obsessed About Nails! Color Breakdown with Blake...

Hi Folks,

Blake here to talk about: Nail Polish Colors

My skin tone is fair with a pink hue – so the colors that look the best on my nails are shades of reds, pinks, violet, and purples.  Before using any color polishes I always apply my base coats.

I love OPI’s nail polish Holland Dutch Ya Just Love OPI H55 – this is a rich, dark, and delightful purple.  When I put on polish it I usually do thin coats so they dry faster. It took me three coats to achieve the desired color but it was most definitely worth it.

I’m an avid user of the following Sally Hansen Insta-Dry:
  • Mauve It
  • Flashy Fuschia
  • Rose Run
  • Petal Pusher
  • Magenta Motion
I keep all these colors on hand as the dry time is so minimal.  I can change color with very little effort (time).  I’m in the habit of changing my nail color every few days to this is just the perfect polish!

I just adore Ruby Pumps by China Glaze. As soon as I had on one coat of this polish I had a flash back – I immediately thought of the ruby red shoes in the Wizard of Oz!! This is a glitter polish so make sure you apply a good base coat.

I also keep a bottle of China Glaze Island Escape Collection Senorita Bonita on hand.  This is an amusing purple glitter with reflective sparkles in gold, green, and red tones.

I also like to use Wet & Wild Megalast.  The colors I keep on hand are:
  • Through the Grapevine #208B
  • On a Trip #213C
  • I Red a Good Book #214C

Okay I’ll admit it: these ten colors of reds and purples are just the” tip of the ice berg. Needless to say there’s abundance of polish in my collection. When ‘m in the mood to be artistic I have a multitude of colors to choose from…..

Remember take time to enjoy life!
